An important concern for administrator, staff, parents and students is SCHOOL BUS SAFETY. School bus safety involves more than school zones, speed limits and flashing red lights with stop arms, but the safe behavior of the hundreds of children that ride the bus daily in our District.
Please note the following suggestions for keeping everyone safe as they board and exit the buses each day.
-
Get to your bus stop at least 5-10 minutes before the arrival of the bus.
-
Wear bright colors so that the people in the vehicles on the street and bus driver see you.
-
Line up at the bus stop quietly in a single row away for the street. Stay at your place of safety until bus is at a complete stop.
-
Don't push, yell or throw any items around at the bus stop or on the bus.
-
Stay out of the "DANGER ZONE", 10 feet around the bus.
-
Follow instructions from bus driver, pay close attention for any directions or signal about your safety as you enter or exit the bus.
-
Keep aisles clear so all students can enter and exit safely.
-
Do not eat or drink on the bus, includes GUM.
-
Talk quietly and stay seated, so driver can give complete attention to safely driving the bus.
We are proud of our safety record and want to continue with the students being safe on and off the bus. Your assistance with reviewing the rules with your child(ren) is appreciated.
Thank You,
Streetsboro School Bus Drivers
