Meet our staff

  • Supervisor James Washinski oversees all scheduling of the 21 employees in the department, as well as maintenance, security, inspections and asbestos management.
  • Safety Manager/Maintenance Randy Clark handles indoor/outdoor maintenance, building safety inspections, OSHA/BWC and outdoor equipment inspections.
  • Delivery/Grounds person Jason Starcher oversees outdoor maintenance, district painting, mowing/snow removal and daily deliveries.
  • Secretary/copy tech Judy Puster handles all safety reports, including OSHA/BWC/Asbestos/Jareds Law, as well as calling substitutes and copying.

 

About the department

  • Each school building has on custodian working the day shift, as well as 10 full-time custodians who work the evening shift, cleaning and setting up for activities.  Two part-time custodians cover other assignments.
  • In addition to their daily duties, day shift custodians are in charge of minor maintenance and maintaining the grounds around their respective buildings.
  • Every evening, each custodian cleans an average of 37,198 square feet,  in addition to other duties.
  • Two employees at the Central Service building do all the mowing and snow removal for the 75 district-owned acres on the campus, plus 11.5 acres at Wait Primary and the 120 acres of district-owned property on Route 14.  This also includes maintenance of the athletic fields.
